(Denver, CO — August, 2020)   SpeedPro, a Denver-based national franchise brand that specializes in large-format printing, announces InfoLnkX, an innovation in Smart Signage that conveys menus, videos, audio, maps, web pages and other detailed information completely through touchless technology. It works by simply tapping a smartphone to a sign, banner, wall mural, decal or other printed graphic. InfoLnkX is a new application of near field communication (NFC) technology, which powers Apple Pay and Google Pay, that brings the same tap technology to local businesses in order to help them open and convey information to customers safely.

“We knew this touchless technology would change the customer experience. We were in the process of developing it prior to the pandemic and have expedited launch in order to aid businesses in social distancing efforts to provide a solution to a critical need restaurants and many other businesses face today,” says Larry Oberly, CEO of SpeedPro. Touchless menu tech allows the ability to provide more than what can be printed on the display. Customers can be directed to website links, video files, audio files and other types of communication which can play a critical role in business and community safety right now.

The advantage of an NFC tag over a QR code is that it is based on proximity so the smartphone simply needs to be held up to or tapped whereas a QR code requires the user to take an additional step of opening the smartphone’s camera or other reader app. NFC provides a better aesthetic because the design does not need to be encumbered by a barcode; it is more durable than a QR code and cannot be damaged by being scratched or scribbled on. It is also more secure. Many SpeedPro’s clients are pairing QR codes with NFC tags for the most universal application.

Restaurants, museums, hotels, venues and other businesses are partnering with SpeedPro to reopen safely. For more information on SpeedPro’s InfoLnkX, visit speedpro.com/products-services/smart-signage/.
